Hi, I'm Dara. I'm the weight and life coach who lost 50 pounds using life coaching tools - specifically, learning to feel my feelings instead of eating them.
My story starts in my 20s, standing in my kitchen at midnight, eating ice cream straight from the container while tears ran down my face. My parents had just divorced, and food became my shield against the possibility of loving someone who might leave. I spent decades using my weight as armor, keeping potential relationships at a safe distance because if you can't get close, you can't get hurt.
I tried everything you've tried. Weight Watchers (multiple times), Jenny Craig, Atkins, South Beach, counting points, counting calories, counting carbs. I could lose weight, but I couldn't keep it off because I never addressed why I was eating when I wasn't hungry.
